The ‘Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde’ with its whitewashed housefronts, tranquil convent garden and beguinage museum was founded in 1245. Today the nuns of the Order of Saint Benedict inhabit the site. The Beguinage entrance gate closes without fail at 6.30 p.m.

Built ca. 1440 by Pieter Bladelin, treasurer of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The walls surrounding the charming inner garden show nice stone medallions representing portraits of the former inhabitants.

Double chapel.
On ground level : St. Basil's Chapel (1139-1149) in roman style. The first floor chapel, converted into gothic style in the 15th century, contains a.o. the famous Relic of the Holy Blood (worship : every Friday). Church services on Sundays: 8 a.m. & 11 a.m.
The museum displays the reliquary of the Holy Blood, clerical vestments and paintings.

Admire the fantastic collection of world-famous graphic art, sculptures and drawings by the renowned Salvador Dali inside the Belfry. All works are originals without a fault, authenticated by the Fundació Gala Salvador Dalí. This museum illustrates you the extraordinary history of Bruges as Europe's oldest diamond centre. Visitors obtain information on the mysterious world of the diamond, one of Belgium's most important export products.

The daily diamond cutting demonstrations start at 12.15 p.m. and 1.15 p.m. during weekends and daily in May, July and August. On weekdays during the other months only at 12.15 p.m. (Your presence is required 15 minutes in advance.)

The historic site of the former Hospital of Saint John (Old Saint John’s) hosts a permanent exhibition of more than 120 original works of art by Pablo Picasso.
Admire the engravings and rare illustrations as well as the drawings and ceramics of the world-famous artist. The exhibition outlines the evolution in his work: from his Spanish period to cubism to surrealism.
Works by some of his artist friends such as Matisse Miró, Braque, Rodin, Chagall.

The museum is located in the Saaihalle, one of Bruges’ oldest and best preserved historical buildings (1399).
The Frietmuseum is unique in the world. It is the first museum that shows the entire history, from the origin of the potato to the first fries. Visitors will be able to see an interesting collection of machines used for the cultivation, harvesting, peeling, sorting and frying of potatoes. The museum, however, also focuses on Belgian fries in art, in music and on film.
After the museum tour, the visitors will be able to taste the real Belgian fries, with delicious sauces and all sorts of meat preparations, in the mediaeval basement. The Frietmuseum will open at the beginning of May 2008, the year of the potato. A nice confluence of events.

The Lace Centre is housed in 15th-century almshouses commissioned by the Adornes family, who also built the Jerusalem Chapel. Lace demonstrations are regularly given.The shop sells all kinds of lace paraphernalia.

The Museum of Lighting lets you experience the entire history of artificial lighting. This long story begins with the torch and the oil lamp and evolves over more than 400.000 years to the electric bulb and the LED. The visitor has access to the world's largest collection of lamps. It comprises more than 6,000 items.

Bruges' oldest parish church (12th-15th century). Worth seeing are the gobelins, mausoleums in the choir, rood-loft with organ (1619-1717), choir stalls and numerous fine paintings.
Cathedral ’s treasury: Paintings by, among others, Dirk Bouts, Hugo van der Goes, manuscripts, copper memorial plaques and silver and gold artefacts.
