Bruges by boat
Bruges by horse-drawn cab Top

There are many ways to visit Bruges. Here are your options if you decide to go on a horse-drawn carriage tour:

A. RENT A CARRIAGE:

1. Standard tours
Standard Tours start and end in the Market square (on Wednesday mornings in the Burg square) and last half an hour. During these tours, you will see the highlights of Bruges while the carriage driver gives explanations. Halfway the tour, we take a five-minute break at the Beguinage. This allows the horses to eat and drink while you pay a quick visit to the Beguinage. The price per carriage (for maximum 5 persons) and per tour is 39 euros, to be paid directly to the carriage driver.

2. Tours with pick-up from your hotel or restaurant
These tours are exclusively reserved for hotel/restaurant clients in Bruges. The carriages can pick you up from your hotel, from where you start the standard tour. This tour ends in the Market square. Reservation can be made through your hotel/restaurant, where you will receive a ticket. Upon calculation of the price, the trip to the hotel/restaurant as well as waiting times (if any), will also be charged. The price is 39 euros per half hour and per carriage.

3. Non-standard tours
Specific wishes for special events, congresses, filmmaking, formal occasions… can also be granted. However, for these tours, a written request must be sent to the City of Bruges Permits Department, who will submit it to the Burgomaster for approval. Download the application form here and send it directly to: dienst.vergunningen@brugge.be
